Williamsburg, VA is a great place to visit (and live!) in the Summer. Whether you are here for a few days, or a few weeks there are many great things to see and do in the Williamsburg area.
If you love history, here are just a few of the places you want to put on your itinerary: Colonial Williamsburg (don’t forget you can enjoy the spa, golf and great restaurants there too!), Historic Jamestown, Jamestown Island, and Yorktown Battlefield and Museum.
Looking to explore Williamsburg from a “local” perspective? Here a just a few of the local things that I have come to enjoy in the 20+ years I have lived here: Sno To Go (shaved ice with ice cream in the center – what’s not to love?), Bruster’s Ice Cream, Williamsburg Farmers Market (Saturdays from 8-12), 2nd Sundays Music and Art Festival (2nd Sunday of each month in Colonial Williamsburg, Cap to Cap Trail (bike 52 miles from Williamsbug to Richmond on a paved trail), and playing pickleball at Veteran’s Park.
If you enjoy visiting wineries and breweries, then you will enjoy the variety we have in the Williamsburg/Charles City/New Kent area. If you prefer wine, here are some places in our area to check out: Upper Shirley Vineyards (great views of the James River from the back deck), Saude Creek Winery, New Kent Winery, andthe Williamsburg Winery. No fear, beer lovers have great places to explore as well – many have live music on the weekends as well: Aleworks Brewery, Billsburg Brewery, Frothy Moon, Virginia Beer Company and Strangeways Brewing.
And finally, one of the things I have really come to enjoy in the area – Live Music. Over the past few years there has been an increasing number of places and events to enjoy live music.
